On arrival in Jakarta, you will be met by an airport representative for the visa on arrival application. Your guide will then meet you for the transfer to your hotel for the next two nights.

Today you will get your first taste of Java with a city tour of Jakarta - Indonesia's capital and with a population of some 19 million people one of the largest cities in the world.

Escape the city as you travel east to the town of Bandung. When you arrive in Bandung you'll check into the Grand Preanger Hotel in the city centre.

Today you will see your first of Indonesia's many volcanoes - Tangkuban Prahu. Spend the day exploring the slopes, sulphur lakes and geysers before visiting a local tea plantation.

It's an early start to take a scenic train journey through the Javan countryside to the famous Yogyakarta or 'Jogja' as the locals call it in the heart of central Java.

This morning you will visit the Kraton (Sultan's Palace) and explore the city. Later in the day your guide will take you to the huge Hindu complex of Prambanan.

Enjoy the beauty of Borobudur at Sunrise today and enjoy a coffee over looking the temple before returning back to your hotel for breakfast. You have the rest of the day to explore the city at your own pace or relax at your hotel.

Take a morning train journey from central Java to east Java - a long but interesting way to see parts of the island that you would normally miss. On arrival in Surabaya you will be taken to your hotel.

After checking out of the hotel you'll begin your journey to the Mount Bromo area. Enjoy stops en route where there are some fantastic views as you climb the windy roads.

Rise early today for one of the most spectacular sights in the world - sun rise over Mount Bromo. After making your way to the crater and climbing to the rim of the smoking Mount Bromo you will then head off to the quaint Dutch influenced town of Malang.
