The Plaza Sorrento is a lively modern hotel with a bright but minimalist design. Each of the five floors are uniquely styled with fresh, clean lines. On the rooftop, there is a small, infinity pool surrounded by sun loungers and offering fantastic views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples beyond. The modern rooms are all of a good size. All feature simple decor, crisp white linens, parquet floors and wooden furniture.
The location of the hotel is ideal and guests can easily explore the many boutiques, bars and restaurants that line the piazzas and cobbled streets nearby.
There is an elevator that takes you down to the sea should you wish to lounge on one of the jetties or take a swim. Next door to the hotel is the beautiful Valley of the Mills, a wonderful ancient ruin, now completely overgrown with trees and moss.
Rooms are classically designed with crisp, white linens, parquet floors and wooden furniture. Although you're in the heart of town, the rooms have double glazing and soundproof walls, making them delightfully quiet. Adjoining rooms are possible on each floor, making it a great choice for families. Many of the rooms have balconies and the bathrooms are clean and bright with either a bathtub or separate shower.
Just a few minutes' walk from the hotel is Piazza Tasso, the central point of access for the main shopping area, old streets or elevator down to the port where many go to lounge on the jetties and swim. Adjacent to the hotel is the Deep Valley of the Mills, an ancient ruin which is now beautifully overgrown with green moss and trees.
Breakfast is served in the Plaza restaurant with a good buffet selection every morning. The Plaza Café, on the ground floor, is a great spot for a morning coffee or an evening drink. The rooftop Sky Bar, though, is the highlight. Here, you can enjoy some incredible views, accompanied by live music and delicious pre-dinner cocktails.
The small rooftop infinity pool is secluded from the Sky Bar allowing you to unwind and enjoy the views in peace. The hotel also has a modern gym.
