Medina Palms is a stunning property located on the unspoilt Turtle Bay. It is a peaceful place, away from the more bustling center of Watamu further north, and is located within the marine reserve, so you have the beach and ocean to yourself!
There are 50 suites here, set in beautiful tropical gardens and range from luxury apartments, penthouses and villas which can accommodate up to ten people. There are four swimming pools running through the center of the property, interconnected with water channels and waterfalls, adding to the tranquil atmosphere. The suites are light and airy, with a mix of modern design and locally carved wooden furnishings. All have an en suite bathroom, lounge, verandah and small kitchenette, as well as Wi-Fi internet and satellite TV.
There are plenty of places to unwind here, from a shady coffee garden, to the rooftop lounge and private beach where meals can be enjoyed under the stars. There is a superb spa with its own relaxation terrace and spa pool, as well as a fitness center and juice bar. For those looking for an active stay, there is plenty to keep you busy here — take your pick from snorkeling, diving, fishing, kite-surfing lessons and stand up paddle boarding. The hotel can also arrange trips to a championship golf course (one hour away), or a safari in Tsavo National Park (two hours away).
Where possible, we like to offer a range of accommodation for each stop of your trip, chosen by our specialists as some of their favorite places to stay. To help you make the right choice, we give each property a rating based on its facilities and service, but we also look for hotels with distinct character or a location that can’t be bettered.
