There are just seven tastefully decorated rooms, each with a private entrance and patio with table and chairs. Inside, the rooms are light, spacious and clean, with tile and wood floors. Décor is muted blues and creams, with your choice of double or twin beds. All rooms have en suite bathrooms with large solar-assisted showers and modern fittings. Two of the rooms can be converted into a family unit sleeping four. Amenities in each room include a flat screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities, a mini fridge, safe and Wi-Fi access.
Cornerstone occupies a quiet corner of the old town, near the marine museum and the old brewery on the corner of Rhode Allee and Hendrik Witbooi. The facilities, shopping, bars and restaurants of Swakopmund's center within easy walking distance.
Food and drink
The breakfast room at the guest house is large, light and airy. You can sit on the veranda on warm days or inside at individual tables. Breakfasts are tasty with a choice of fresh fruit, juices, yogurts, breads, and eggs and bacon cooked to order. For lunch and dinner you can wander into town and try out the various restaurants found in Swakopmund.

Your hosts can book activities and make dining reservations for you, and will provide a same-day laundry service. Secure off-street parking is also available for guests who are self-driving. There's a lounge with satellite TV, while the gardens are a peaceful place to relax.
The owners, Peter and Margo, are often around and always happy recommend places to eat and things to do in the area. We found this to be a friendly, peaceful guesthouse and think it's a lovely option for your stay in Swakopmund.

An excellent way to spend a morning is on a gentle kayaking trip to Pelican Point. A number of sturdy sea kayaks await and you will be guided to three colonies of up to around 6,000 cape fur seals.
The guided trip is likely to cover the riverbed, gravel plains and the magical dune field from east to west.
