The Boatshed is located on the beautiful Waiheke Island, just 35 minutes by ferry from Auckland, and offers luxury accommodations in a relaxed island setting. Inspired by the early 1900s boat sheds that scatter the shores of New Zealand, the property's interior style reflects the nautical theme and provides panoramic ocean views from every guest suite.

Each room is bright and sunny and includes well-chosen artwork with soaring timber ceilings and louvred shutters that peek onto the private garden and the ocean beyond. All guests are provided with full beach gear to explore the island or is welcomed to curl up in front of the common fireplace with a good book from the library. In the evening, you can take a gentle stroll to the island village where you will find a handful of boutique restaurants and bars.

Rooms

The Boatshed boasts of six different rooms types that range from a Boatshed Suite to the Owners Cottage. In each of the rooms, you will find large doors or windows that look onto the Oneroa Bay, a split king bed with luxury linens, air-conditioning, and a nautically themed room accentuated with shutters and teak furnishings. With the wide variety of room types, you can find the perfect one to fit your travel preferences during your stay on Waiheke Island.

Location

Set above Oneroa Bay, The Boatshed provides a quiet sanctuary that is just a five-minute drive to the island’s main street where you will find boutiques, cafes and a beautiful white sand beach.

Food and drink

During your stay, you can enjoy a buffet or à la carte breakfast served in the dining room or outside on the terrace and you can pre-book dinner in the hotel restaurant or enjoy a picnic hamper to take out while exploring Waiheke Island. Alternatively, you can walk to a handful of restaurants and bars from the property.

Families

The Owners Cottage is suitable for a small family.

Honeymooners

The Watertower is well-suited for honeymooners who are looking for privacy. The Watertower room has a separate entrance with a rooftop garden which is perfect for an outdoor bath or a private dinner.

Facilities and activities

While at The Boatshed, you can rent one of the "Picnic Trucks" to make your way around the island to explore the vineyards and beaches. We recommend pre-booking these cars, as they can take days to reserve once on the island.
