The rooms are all unique and have individual locations around the estate. Some of the rooms are in their own duplex cottages, hillside villas and even a 19th-century sugar mill.
The decor is drawn from the original buildings, and incorporated traditional patterns, and colourful furnishings with red being the predominant colour of the hotel. The Sugar Mill offers great views over Nevis Peak, a glorious outdoor patio and has a king-sized bed and two twin beds: perfect for families.
Paradise cottage is the perfect romantic hideaway, tucked into the blissful gardens, this renovated stone cottage mirrors the other rooms in decor, with vibrant colours, whitewashed walls and traditional linens. The Hillside rooms are higher up on the hillside and sit around the swimming pool. Each room has a large private veranda with seating and views over the sea below. Rooms are either king- or split-twin configuration. The Dar is a quaint West Indian Cottage sat in its own private garden with a full screened back porch.
All rooms include à la carte breakfast, Wi-Fi, complimentary laundry, private bathrooms, ceiling fans, LA LABO-branded toiletries, bottled water and welcome sweets.
The lively Rocks restaurant is famed for traditional Caribbean cuisine, cooked up by chef Ricky Finch using fresh local ingredients. Contemporary seafood dishes are created using locally caught fish and lobster, as well as herbal accompaniments from local gardens. All meals can be served alfresco on the expansive terrace overlooking the sea or enjoyed in the privacy of the gardens.
Cool aperitifs, tropical cocktails and lightly spiced rums are all served in the atmospheric, cave-like bar. Accented with the lively red colours that thread through the hotel, the bar is the perfect place to learn more about the local spirit, its distillery and pungent flavour.
A delightful freshwater pool sits under a canopy of stunning bougainvillea and the shade of the ancient palms. This is the perfect place for guests to cool off with views over the jungle or enjoy a poolside read in one of the many comfortable deckchairs. There is also direct access from the hotel to many of the hiking trails on the side of Mount Nevis, for those wishing to get into the depths of nature and spot some local wildlife.
With its historic charm and tranquil setting, Golden Rock Inn is the perfect base to explore the island before retiring for a delicious meal at the Rocks restaurant and a taste of local rum in the atmospheric cave bar.
