Catalonia Las Cortes

Catalonia las Cortes

Madrid, Spain

Set in an 18th-century building on a quiet side street just off Madrid's central Plaza de Santa Ana, the Catalonia Las Cortes is a classically elegant boutique hotel. It is located in the bustling Las Letras district and the surrounding streets are filled with some of the city’s best tapas bars, while the Museo del Prado can be reached on foot in around 10 minutes.

Inside, you’ll find high ceilings, polished marble or parquet floors, and traditional wood panels on the walls. The reception area gives way to a lounge filled with comfortable seating and a small bar, while an original wooden staircase leads up to the 65 rooms. Each is decorated in a muted palette of grays, whites and browns with large windows and antique furnishings. Some feature marble columns, intricate stuccowork and frescoed ceilings. Along with tea and coffee facilities, all rooms offer air conditioning, TVs and free Wi-Fi in addition to marble bathrooms.

A varied buffet breakfast including plenty of Spanish fare is served each morning, while the hotel’s location means there are plenty of restaurants to discover nearby.
