The resort has three room categories — Premier Garden View, Deluxe Garden View and Deluxe Sea View rooms. All feature king or twin beds, en suite bathrooms with rain showers, safes, tea/coffee making facilities, satellite TVs with DVD players, minibars and outdoor sofas accessed through glass sliding doors. Deluxe rooms are slightly bigger than Premier rooms and can fit an extra bed.

The resort's four suite categories offer additional space and luxury. Junior Garden View Suites have direct garden access and a large terrace; Garden View Suites feature two balconies overlooking the resort gardens; Royal Sea View Suites have wrap-around balconies and panoramic sea views; while the Beachfront Pool Suites boast a 20 square meter private pool, outdoor deck and sweeping sea views. In addition to the room amenities, suites include a bathtub, lounge area with sofa, Nespresso machine, wine fridge and iPod docking station.

The Anantara is located on Bophut Beach on the northern coast of Koh Samui. Based in a quiet part of the island, it's nevertheless only a short walk to Fisherman’s Village where you can find a variety of restaurants and bars. Perfect for families or couples wanting a peaceful retreat without total isolation.

Food and drink

Full Moon is the resort's signature restaurant and specializes in chargrilled meat and seafood. A buffet breakfast is served in the High Tide restaurant, which doubles as a Thai restaurant in the evening, serving authentic Thai dishes ranging from old favorites such as Thai Green Curry to more exotic dishes such as stir fried rock lobster. More casual dining can be enjoyed at Eclipse Bar, which serves gourmet pizzas, tapas and cocktails, while the Ocean’s Edge bar is a relaxed place for a sundowner. Private dining on the beach can also be arranged for those looking for a more romantic setting. Meanwhile, the quaint, popular area of Fisherman's Cove is a short walk away should you wish to see a little more of the island and eat locally.

The hotel has a good kid’s club called Baan Ling Noi (‘Little Monkey’). Deluxe room categories and the suites can accommodate one or two children.

Honeymooners can take part in a romantic Khom Loi lantern ceremony, enjoy private dinners on the beach and enjoy stunning sunsets over drinks.

Facilities and activities

Facilities on site include an infinity swimming pool and Jacuzzi, a fitness center, tennis courts, a sumptuous spa and a library. Guests can take part in activities such as beach yoga classes, Thai boxing, cooking classes, windsurfing and ocean kayaking. The resort is also affiliated with a dive center for diving and snorkeling opportunities.

Our opinion

We feel that the Anantara Bophut provides the ideal setting for those seeking the convenience of walking to a wide range of restaurants in the nearby Fisherman’s Village. The range of facilities and activities gives it a wide appeal for families and couples alike.
