This lodge is located high on the banks of the Colorado River, alongside some of the river's best whitewater rapids and at the foot of soaring red rock cliffs. The rugged landscape that surrounds the lodge may look familiar — it's been used in many Hollywood blockbusters, including John Ford's 1950 Western classic, Rio Grande.
Just 15 miles away from the town of Moab, the lodge offers a wealth of attractions, from horse riding, mountain biking, white-water rafting and hiking, to an outdoor pool and spa, tennis and volleyball courts, and an exercise room.
The property offers two room choices: mini suites or cabins. Each of these has a choice of views, either looking onto the Colorado River or the small Castle Creek that runs behind the property.
The hotel located on the scenic Highway 128 (voted the second most scenic highway in the USA), which follows the Colorado River out of Moab. It is roughly a 30-minute drive to Moab from the hotel.
The Wild Horse bar provides a relaxing setting for drinks before a traditional, Western-style dinner in the Cowboy Grill. There is also a winery and movie memorabilia museum. Please note that the restaurant and shop are closed from October to March.
Great for families, the motel-styled rooms are spacious and full of character. Also on the property, you'll find the Moab Film and Western Heritage Museum, which hosts ever-changing exhibits featuring memorabilia from Western films.
