The Carolina Inn

Located on the campus of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Carolina Inn was built in 1924 by a former student, John Sprunt Hill, who donated the property to the university in 1935, asking that all profits be donated to the upkeep of the university library.

Attractive in its design with architecture incorporating early American and English Regency styles and a member of the Historic Hotels of America, this hotel offers charm, character and elegance in abundance.

In addition to the hotel's longstanding tradition of afternoon tea, there is also the Carolina Crossroads fine dining restaurant and bar, serving contemporary interpretations of classic and seasonal Southern fare.

Guest rooms are warmly decorated and elegantly appointed with period furnishings and antiques and come equipped with a 32-inch flat-screen TV, iPod docking station, mini fridge, tea/coffee-making facilities and Wi-Fi.
