OUR OPINION:

First class contemporary accommodation without the price tag of the harbourfront hotels, whilst still within a short walk of all that Sydney has to offer.

Rooms

With warm wood detailing, a pale, neutral palette, padded headboards and accents of deep purple in the plush swivel chairs, the 415 rooms at the Amora Hotel Jamieson are chic but understated in their design. Their large windows offer views over the city, and the spacious bathrooms feature a separate walk-in shower and deep bath tub. All rooms offer free Wi-Fi and newspapers, large TV, coffee maker and minibar.

Location

The hotel sits in Sydney’s central business district, a short walk from Wynyard Station. It’s just a ten-minute walk from Circular Quay, Barangaroo, and The Rocks, meaning Sydney’s best shopping, dining and nightlife are on the hotel’s doorstep. Darling Harbour is a 15-minute walk away and the Sydney Opera House and Hyde Park can be reached in 20 minutes on foot.

Food and drink

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the hotel’s Croft restaurant with light complementing its pared-back, minimalist design. The restaurant has a strong focus on locally-sourced produce and serves a menu of modern Australian dishes with a farm-to-table concept at their core. The sleek Silo bar offers a range of casual snacks throughout the day and serves local craft beers, spirits and wines.

Families

Children are welcome at the hotel and stay free if using existing bedding; connecting rooms are available and there’s a children’s menu at the restaurant.

Facilities and activities

The hotel has a large spa providing a wide range of treatments, an indoor pool and a gym.
