Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Perth.

  • Welcome to Perth, the capital of Western Australia. After being transferred to your centrally located hotel you will have the rest of your day at leisure to relax and explore your surroundings.

  • Perth is a vibrant, energetic city, and today, you will have some time at leisure to explore at your own pace. We've also arranged a short walking tour that will help you unearth some of the city's hidden gems.

  • Take a short ferry ride this morning and travel from the buzzing capital city of Perth to the picturesque nature lovers' paradise of Rottnest Island, home to one of Australia's most loveable — and photogenic — marsupials, the quokka. Apart from a small colony on the mainland, Rottnest Island is the only place where quokkas can be found on Earth, and you are likely to see several emerging from the bush as you explore the islet.

  • Rottnest Island is a protected nature reserve, and aside from the Island Explorer bus, which circuits the island, it is car-free. We recommend hiring a bicycle and exploring at your own pace — with 63 beaches in total and some great snorkelling on offer, spending some time by the sea should definitely be on the agenda for today.

  • Travel back to the mainland this morning and straight to the airport in time for your flight to the World Heritage Area of the Ningaloo Coast. From one natural wonder to another, the Ningaloo Reef is the world's longest-fringing coral reef. Your accommodation for the next three nights is in the luxurious safari-style tents of Sal Salis, one of the Australian Luxury Lodge collection. You'll arrive at Sal Salis via a scenic flight transfer, allowing you to get a bird's-eye view of Ningaloo's natural wonder.

  • Stretching some 300 km (186 miles) in length and home to some of the best-known dive sites in the world, the Ningaloo Reef welcomes both whale sharks and humpback whales, which can be experienced at various times of the year. Today you'll have the opportunity to snorkel with one of these ocean giants.

  • Nestled in the dunes steps away from the Ningaloo Reef, and with the deep gorges of the Cape Range National Park as a backdrop, Sal Sal Salis is perfectly placed to offer nature-based experiences, and a plethora of activities are included in your stay. Today, perhaps you may wish to take a guided walk through the national park and learn about the area's Aboriginal heritage and unique wildlife. Alternatively, don a snorkelling mask again and try your hand at drift snorkelling, letting the ocean currents guide you over some of the country's best coral and marine life, which starts almost from the water's edge. Whichever activity you choose you can be sure that canapés and a stunning three-course meal will await you at the end of the day.

  • You will travel south again today, returning to Perth where you will be met at the airport and transported approximately three hours south to the Margaret River region. This region is home to both world-famous wine and beaches and is one of the country's undisputed food and wine destinations. Your accommodation for the next three nights is a culinary attraction in itself, Cape Lodge, with its restaurant having been ranked in Condé Nast's Top Ten Restaurants of the World.

  • Today you'll have the opportunity to experience one of the most scenic sections of one of Australia's 'Great Walks', the Cape to Cape Track, with a knowledgeable private guide. This is undoubtedly one of the most impressive coastal walks in Australia, with white sands, turquoise waters and dramatic clifftop scenery lining the track, and your day will include an indulgent four-course lunch with premium matched wines.

  • Spend your last day in the Margaret River region on a gastronomic high, exploring the wine, food and arts at the world-renowned Leeuwin Estate. Your experience today will include a guided introduction to the onsite art gallery, expert-led wine tasting and a seven-course tasting menu for lunch, which will be paired with premium Leeuwin Estate wines.

  • A private transfer will collect you from your lodge this morning and return you to Perth in time for your onward arrangements.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
