Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Belize City.

  • On arriving in Belize City, you're met by an Audley representative and driven to your lodge in the Cayo District by a private transfer. The journey takes almost three hours. You'll head out from your lodge on a guided night walk in a small group in the evening. Walking through the darkened rainforest, your guide will help you spot wildlife such as snakes, owls, coatimundis and tarantulas. The walk takes around one and a half hours.

  • This morning, you head out on a guided walk in a small group. You'll explore the surrounding jungle trails, admiring the flora, fauna and beautiful views of the valley. Walks generally last one and a half hours. We can arrange a walk with a specialist birding guide for keen bird watchers. You'll search for species such as toucans, flycatchers, olive-throated parakeets, manakins, lineated and pale-bill woodpeckers, and king vultures. The tour is equally suitable for enthusiastic and novice bird watchers. You have the afternoon at leisure. Relax at your hotel, or we can arrange activities such as horse riding, mountain biking or river tubing.

  • Today's private excursion takes you to the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, a sprawling complex of 25 temples and palaces. After enjoying lunch you'll continue exploring the cave systems known as Xibalba, Mayan for 'underworld'.

  • Take a light aircraft flight to the beach island of Ambergris Caye. The rest of the day is at leisure, so you can relax after the journey and perhaps visit the hotel beach.
