Laluna is a boutique hotel in a secluded location, offering a good destination for couples who want a relaxing break.
There are just 16 cottages dotted around the hillside looking out toward the Caribbean Sea and the beach below. The hotel is tucked away in a tranquil location and with so few guests, the beach is generally peaceful.
The hotel places an emphasis on well-being, with complimentary daily yoga classes and a Balinese spa. You'll find Asian influence in other elements of the hotel’s design, as well as with Italian inspiration thanks to the hotel’s Italian owner — both blend seamlessly with Caribbean influences.

Set right on a beautiful white-sand beach in beautiful gardens that are overhung with bougainvillea, we suggest Laluna for couples who want to relax. The hotel is small and each cottage offers plenty of privacy, so you can enjoy sitting out on your veranda with a sundowner.
The 16 cottages are spread across the hillside and have a relaxed, rustic decor using earthy tones like terracotta and ocher on the walls along with tiled floors, sweeping drapes, a canopy bed and an open-air bathroom. Each also has its own veranda with Balinese daybed and plunge pool along with air conditioning, ceiling fan, flat-screen TV, Bluetooth speaker and Wi-Fi inside the room.
Set on the secluded southwest coast, Laluna is nestled among mature tropical gardens on a hillside over a peaceful white-sand beach. There are many steps to the cottages, so we don’t recommend this hotel for less mobile clients.
Laluna offers a convenient location, just a 10-minute drive from the airport or Saint George’s. Morne Rouge beach is just a short drive or 20-minute walk away, and offers a couple of small restaurants. Grand Anse, one of Grenada’s best known stretches of beach, is a five-minute drive away and offers a wider selection of shops and restaurants.
Food and drink
The influence of the hotel’s Italian owner is perhaps most noticeable in the food and drink offered by the resort, with a focus on Italian food. However, the menus also display a strong Caribbean influence and the chefs make good use of fresh, local ingredients and organic herbs from their garden.
The restaurant is set under a thatched roof overlooking the beach and seats just 36 people, creating an intimate atmosphere. It's popular with locals, too, and we recommend reserving a table for dinner at busy times.
The poolside Grenada Beach Bar and Sunset Lounge offers bar snacks from afternoon until early evening and is a lovely place to watch the sunset. There is a happy hour daily between 5-7pm and live music every Sunday evening.
No children under 12 years are allowed at Laluna over the winter (mid-December to mid-April). Although younger children are allowed the rest of the year, this hotel is more suitable to couples as there are no twin beds and generally the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed with no children’s facilities.
Every week, Laluna arranges a catamaran sunset sailing and snorkeling tour that includes snorkeling at the underwater sculpture park. They are also happy to help organize a number of other excursions to explore the island including an outing to Saint George's, a visit to the rainforest for a dip in a waterfall, or a tour of an organic cocoa plantation.
There is no dive facility at Laluna, but the hotel will be happy to help you arrange this with a local operator.
The Balinese spa is open six days a week and offers traditional treatments from professional Balinese massage therapists. There is a Vichy shower and tatami room along with a couples' treatment room.
