The Belmond Hotel Caruso is a stately property with most of its rooms overlooking the sea, while a handful look over the gardens below. Ravello town is just a short walk from the hotel, but if you want to explore the bay, you can take a complimentary tour in the hotel’s private boat.

The infinity pool is one of the standout features and looks out to sea. The design of the hotel is classic, light and elegant; some of the communal areas masterfully revive the shades of Pompeii with burnt terracottas, ochres and deep greens.

Rooms

Each room or suite has a distinct shape and theme but all promise a fresh, elegant interior with magnificent views over the sea and nearby towns or out on to the village. The bathrooms are spacious with impressive marble bathtubs. On a sunny day, you can enjoy your breakfast on the balcony or sit in the sunshine on your terrace.

Location

Belmond Hotel Caruso sits high up in the town of Ravello. It has car access so you don’t need to climb many stairs to reach it. A 25-minute drive brings you to Amalfi town, where you can catch a boat to Positano, Capri, Sorrento or Naples. The coastal drive to reach Ravello from any of these places is one of the most beautiful drives in the region.

Food and drink

The Belvedere Restaurant serves gourmet cuisine using locally sourced produce. You can sit under the frescoed ceiling of the grand dining room and piano bar or on the outdoor terrace. For a poolside lunch, you can enjoy a light meal or pizza in the sunshine. Breakfast is served on the terrace or you may have it brought to your balcony.

Facilities and activities

The infinity pool stands out as the hotel’s signature attraction, but there's plenty more to see and do here. One of our preferred activities for families is the option to ‘Make your own Film’ with the help of a professional filmmaker. You can also take a complimentary tour of the coast in the hotel’s private boat or unwind in the spa or gym.
