A stay at Lake Manze Camp provides a very special, authentic safari experience that will not be forgotten in a hurry. The tents are basic but private and, as animals often wander through the camp, you'll experience the thrill of being out in the wilderness.

The camp really comes alive at night as the camp is illuminated entirely by candlelight, creating an exciting and romantic atmosphere. Enjoy a drink by the fire listening to the sounds of the animals and birds out in the bush before having a meal by candlelight, sharing stories of the exciting sightings you've experienced on your game drives.

OUR OPINION:

This is a simple but perfectly positioned camp, where you'll often see giraffe and impala from the restaurant, as well as the odd elephant meandering through the camp itself. The tents are basic but comfortable, lit by candles at night. For those who are content to live without the frills in a fantastic bush environment, Lake Manze represents a wonderful Nyerere National Park experience.

Rooms

The tents at the camp are spacious and comfortable, but fairly simple in their design. However, the beautiful surroundings more than make up for this. Each tent features an en suite bathroom with flush toilet and hot shower and is furnished with double or twin beds. The patio at the front of each tent makes the perfect spot for reading a book in the early afternoons and spotting game wandering around the camp area.

Location

The camp is located right in the heart of Nyerere National Park on the shores of Lake Manze.

Food and drink

Meals are a sociable affair, with all guests dining together under the shady thatch, allowing you to share your safari experiences over a simple evening meal. All meals are included in the price of the room, but drinks will need to be paid for during your stay. 

Families

Children over the age of six are welcome at Lake Manze, and two of the tents can be converted to accommodate families. 

Honeymooners

A special tent is set aside for honeymoon couples, set further away from the main area to provide a more private, intimate stay. The tent's décor is also especially romantic.

Facilities and activities

Activities from the camp include game drives, boat safaris and early morning bush walks, making this a superb place to be based for a safari in Nyerere National Park.
