Jing's Residence
A beautifully converted traditional courtyard property, Jing’s Residence has combined modern comfort with the UNESCO world heritage town’s famed traditional architecture.
The Yide is a delightful eighteenth century courtyard style guesthouse located on a side street within easy walking distance of Pingyao’s main streets.
Spread over two courtyards, the rooms are clean and spacious, with modern bathrooms, televisions, water heaters and traditional Qing style wooden furniture and decoration.
The property was formerly the mansion of a wealthy Pingyao businessman and has been extremely well preserved. Stone pillars for tying and mounting horses line the driveway, intricate stone carvings and shrines are set in the courtyard walls and at night atmospheric red lanterns are lit in the courtyards and dining room.
Where possible, we like to offer a range of accommodation for each stop of your trip, chosen by our specialists as some of their favourite places to stay. To help you make the right choice, we give each property a rating based on its facilities and service, but we also look for hotels with distinct character or a location that can’t be bettered.
