Canyoning in Turrialba
Canyoning in Turrialba, Costa Rica
Explore the dramatic Puente Vigas Canyon with an experienced climber and guide. Rappel down cascading waterfalls, climb down vertical canyon walls, zip line through verdant forest canopies and witness the raw natural beauty of the Turrialba region.
The canyoning site is located in Calle Chirraca, a small and modest yet lush area near Turrialba. You will begin the tour with an introduction to your guides and equipment, before making your way to the first waterfall where a guide will give a speech on safety.
Your guide will explain the course and the equipment making sure you know the necessary mechanisms and procedures to ensure a safe and fun experience. After this, you will begin your adventure - rappelling down four waterfalls, zip lining down four canopy cables, descending down two tall trees and traversing a 132-foot hanging bridge.
The tour takes approximately three to four hours and all equipment and splash jackets are provided.
Please note that this activity involves rappelling and descending cliffs and waterfalls, and as such requires a good level of fitness and a head for heights. The equipment for this activity, including ropes, harnesses and carabiners, are the same as those used in rock climbing.
