Hotel Paris

Prague, Czechia (Czech Republic)

An imposing neo-Gothic building with Art Nouveau touches, Hotel Paris offers a combination of elegant grandeur and a convenient location in the heart of Prague’s old town, a short stroll from most of the city’s attractions. Inside, you’ll find marble floors, ceramic mosaics, and period decor that all recall the building’s early 20th-century heyday. The 86 rooms and suites each have their own elegant style and contain replicas of the building’s original Art Nouveau furniture.

The hotel is family-owned, giving it a relaxed, personable atmosphere. Enjoy breakfast or a morning coffee at Café de Paris, the hotel’s own patisserie, which boasts large windows and French styling reminiscent of a Parisian cafe. For dinner, you might dine at the Sarah Bernhardt restaurant, which serves traditional Czech and French cuisine.

In addition to its old-fashioned grandeur, we love the small touches at this family-run property that make for a personal experience, as well as the daily sweet treats you can enjoy from its patisserie.

The decor of the 86 rooms and suites recalls the early 20th century, with Art Nouveau styling and an emphasis on patterns and texture. Depending on your room, you’ll find striped wallpaper, crinkled silk throws, and upholstery in rich velvets, leather, or brocade.

Deluxe rooms look out onto Municipal House, while Executive rooms have views over the old town and can interconnect to provide more space for families or larger parties. The Junior suites each have a separate living room with a sofa bed. Meanwhile, Luxury suites each have a different design — we like the Tower Suite, which you can reach via a spiral staircase for wraparound views of Prague from the outdoor seating area.

In the historic heart of Prague, on the Square of the Republic, the hotel is a short walk from all of the city’s sights and attractions, including the Municipal House, the Powder Tower, and the Old Town Square.
