Stay at Hotel Posada de la Selva, Tikal & El Petén

Perfectly located for exploring the ruins at Tikal and the surrounding jungle, the Hotel Posada de la Selva offers simple yet comfortable accommodation within the national park just one hour's drive from Flores.

Hotel Posada de la Selva, Tikal & El Petén, Guatemala

The Hotel Posada de la Selva is all about location. It is the closest property to the jungle-clad Tikal ruins and actually set within the beautiful national park itself - just one hour's drive from the main town of Flores.

The lodge is simple but comfortable with 36 bungalows and two junior suites, each with ceiling fans and hot water. Electricity is limited and does not run 24 hours; it is shut down for some time during the night.

Facilities include a pool, bar and restaurant that is open all day until 9pm. The lodge operates a tour desk offering shared (starting at around 9am - 9.30am) or private tours of Tikal as well as a variety of other tours.

Where possible, we like to offer a range of accommodation for each stop of your trip, chosen by our specialists as some of their favourite places to stay. To help you make the right choice, we give each property a rating based on its facilities and service, but we also look for hotels with distinct character or a location that can’t be bettered.

    Experiences while staying here

The following activities are designed to give you the most authentic experiences of the area where you’re staying. We work with local guides, who use their knowledge and often a resident’s eye to show you the main sights and more out-of-the-way attractions. Our specialists can also suggest outdoor pursuits and activities, such as cooking classes, that will introduce you to the traditions of the area’s inhabitants.
