Four Chimneys Inn, Bennington, New England

Situated in Old Bennington in the Shires of Vermont, the Four Chimneys Inn is an attractive mansion property nestled amidst 11 acres of tranquil parkland next to the old governor's mansion and just a few steps from the historic Old First Church.

Although the inn dates back to 1783, it was rebuilt in 1910 following a fire and became known as a prominent fine-dining restaurant in the 1950s, with an A-list clientele including Walt Disney, Norman Rockwell, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

Today, this bed-and-breakfast property features 11 beautifully appointed and individually styled guest rooms, each with a sense of old-world charm yet boasting modern amenities including individual climate control, high-speed internet access, TV and DVD player, many also with private porches and fireplaces.

The inn also offers a seasonal restaurant (mid-August to October) for dinner as well as breakfast each morning year-round.
