Rice terraces, Ubud

Spend a day touring Ubud & surrounding villages

Ubud has been known for centuries as an artists and crafts centre. Verdant terraces, sculptured a thousand years ago, are still planted and lovingly cared for by hand.

Join us to see Bali's living rice basket. Rice fields are exquisitely carved out of hills and valleys, sparkling with water or the bright green of a promised rice harvest.

Bali's temples are a common sight on the island as there are at least 20,000 of them. Ubud is at the hub of all these temples. As a result new styles of painting and dance have traditionally made their premier in this village of free spirits.

This tour includes the workshops and galleries of some of Ubud's finest craftsmen. Celuk, home of the silver and gold works industry; Mas, Bali's woodcarving village and Ubud, centre of the Balinese paintings.
