Hacienda Temozon, Merida & Around, Mexico

The Hacienda Temozon is located approximately forty minutes to the South of Merida en-route to Uxmal. This magnificent hacienda has been tastefully restored to preserve the original architecture.

Its 28 rooms are all spacious with features such as high beamed ceilings, antique furniture: some have private terraces and some have plunge pools. The restaurant serves international cuisine, and dining is atmospheric on the open air terraces.

The grounds stretch out for 88 acres and their many paths invite you to explore on foot or on one of the hotel's bicycles or horses. You will discover it's 17th century church and much of the original machinery used to make the henequen when this was a working Hacienda, as well as two fresh water cenotes.

The hotel has been updated to include modern facilities such as a small gym, spa, swimming pool and tennis courts. The nearby town also has many artisan workshops which are supported by the Haciendas del Mundo Maya AC Foundation and Fomento Cultural Banamex, and is a wonderful opportunity to see and buy traditional designs made with local materials.
