The Casa Vieja Hotel is one of the oldest buildings in San Cristóbal de las Casas, the original structure dates back to 1740 and some of the original features include the clay tiled floor, the roof and the beautiful ornamental bathroom splash tiles.
The 40 bedrooms are simply but comfortably decorated, all have wonderful high beamed ceilings and are located over rambling levels around restful inner courtyards in which mature vines grow. The hotel does have a restaurant across the road that specialises in Mexican cuisine and the hotel is also centrally located with most of the historic sites within easy strolling distance.
