La Mision de Fray Diego
La Mision de Fray Diego, Merida & Around, Mexico
Four hundred years ago the original part of La Mision de Fray Diego was a convent part of the 'Temple of Nuns' or 'Our Lady of the Consolation' and now is a unique converted 17th Century colonial residence just one block from the historic centre of Merida.
There are 26 simply decorated well appointed en-suite rooms that all vary in size and although they can be dark due to the colonial nature of the property they are perfectly comfortable with air-con and T.V. There is restaurant, a lovely pool within a fabulous garden and beautiful spacious traditional courtyard. The hotel is a strange mix of modern and old and is definitely a little rustic and quirky around the edges but has bags of character and charm.
