Benguerra Island offers an intimate number of beautiful Casinhas and Cabanas, as well as the Casa de Familia Villa. All are shaded by milkwood trees and overlook the sandy shores.
The Casinhas are slightly raised on wooden platforms and have a large room with a king sized bed complete with muslin nets. The open plan en suite bathrooms feature baths and outdoor showers, and each Casinha boasts its own private plunge pool and extended wooden deck, furnished with a table and shaded chairs along with two wooden loungers. From here, you can step directly onto the sandy beach, where thick towels are provided for your private thatched sun shade and wooden beach loungers.
The Cabanas are just slightly smaller in size, but are cosy featuring a bath, indoor and outdoor shower and plunge pool. For a real treat, or for families or friends travelling together, the Casa de Familia Villa offers a master bedroom along with two additional en suite bedrooms. It also boasts a private lounge, dining area and pool with a deck and garden. Guests in the villa can enjoy the additional benefit of having their own private chef throughout their stay.
Situated on the largest island within Mozambique’s beautiful Bazaruto Archipelago, the lodge is nestled right in the heart of a marine conservation area, overlooking a sandy beach and deep lagoon. The snorkeling and diving here is superb, while the island itself boasts a lush interior of forest, wetland and freshwater lakes, as well as the dramatic sand-dunes which the area is renowned for.
Food and drink
