Rooms in this heritage building all differ slightly but feature calm and soothing decor in shades of taupe, gray, white and black. The hotel is committed to supporting local business and the beds and cream leather headboards are made in Adelaide and complemented by locally made and handcrafted wardrobes, marble-top desks and side tables. Each room has a large smart TV with movies on demand, complimentary Wi-Fi, media hub, air conditioning and powerful rain showers in the spacious bathrooms. Executive rooms also have Nespresso machines.
Location
The hotel is set right in the heart of the central business district and offers easy access to the vibrant laneways of the adjacent West End with their cafés, bars and restaurants. The giant Rundle Mall is a five-minute walk away, the Adelaide Central Market is ten minutes on foot and the Adelaide Oval can be reached in less than 15 minutes.
Food and drink
A buffet breakfast is served in the basement Mayflower Restaurant and includes a range of pastries, breads and cereals, honey from the beehives on the hotel roof, and a selection of hot dishes. Lunch and dinner are classic in style with oysters, lobster, Chateaubriand and Cordon Bleu chicken on the menu alongside lighter pasta and salad dishes. Snacks are available in the rooftop Hennessy bar which is decorated with large crystal chandeliers and has a glass-roofed outdoor terrace and balcony.
