Rooms
Nxabega’s nine tents are spread out in the riverine forest with views over a shallow channel from private verandas. Each spacious tent is on a raised wooden deck and very comfortable and stylish. Interiors include cowhide mats on the floors, beds with soft duvets, wooden wardrobes, lamps, remote-controlled fans and lots of little extras, including your game and bird checklists. The large en suite bathrooms with burnished teak floor have flush toilets, basins, handmade soaps, big fluffy towels and rain showers with copious hot water. No detail has been missed.
Location
Located on Botswana’s Okavango Delta, Nxabega Camp is located on a large private concession, within a collection of waterways and lagoons. Just a 15-minute drive from the nearest private airstrip, it’s easily accessible and well placed to explore the wilderness surrounding it on all sides.
Food and drink
The food at Nxabega is exceptionally good. Large brunches are served on the deck and most evening meals are had under the stars, lit by lanterns and candles with a fire at each end of the table. There's also a good selection of wine.
Families
Children of all ages are welcomed at Nxabega Camp, and there is a family suite available for groups. Younger kids can enjoy &Beyond’s WILDchild package, which allows children to learn about the environment and wildlife around them. At Nxabega, WILDchild activities may include tracking, fishing and mini bush walks — they may also leave with a memento of their time at the camp.
Facilities and activities
Nxabega offers day and night game drives and walks can be arranged on request. However, the boat and mokoro trips are the experiences that stand out. Deep in the heart of the delta, you can take to the water to explore lagoons, channels and floodplains, perhaps even trying a bit of fishing. Floating on the Xou Lagoon as the sun sets and birds fly home to roost is a relaxing end to a busy day of exploring. Back at the camp, guests can relax in the shade around the swimming pool, browse the Safari Shop and look out across the Delta on private verandas.
