Summit Lodge

Whistler, Canada

Conveniently located in the heart of Whistler, Summit Lodge is a boutique hotel with a range of well-equipped studios and suites with a playful, contemporary design. Carefully-chosen but mismatched furniture, quirky artwork, feature lamps and bright cushions give the lobby a trendy, youthful appearance.

The Deluxe Studios follow a similarly modish style, while the Executive and One Bedroom suites are more conventional. All come with kitchenettes, a dining area and large bathrooms and balconies.

There are two restaurants to choose from on site, including an upmarket tapas venue with a strong local reputation, and a relaxed sushi restaurant serving a variety of Japanese dishes. The hotel also runs a daily evening wine reception.

There's a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, a sauna and a spa, and bike and scooter rentals are available. From December to April guests can also make use of a complimentary ski shuttle. On foot, it's about a ten-minute walk to the gondolas and just a short stroll around the surrounding streets to find a choice of cafés, restaurants, shops and galleries.

The resort has three types of room all with a fully-equipped kitchenette, dining table and en suite bathroom with a bath. The Deluxe Studios have the most trendy, playful design with bright, geometric patterns on the walls or cushions, quirky artwork, and splashes of hot pink, lime green or turquoise blue. The Executive Suites and One Bedroom Suites are a little more conservative with more subdued, traditional decor. All rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV and fluffy bathrobes.

Food and drink

The resort has two restaurants: Elements Urban Tapas Parlour and Sachi Sushi. Elements is open all day with an à la carte breakfast and lunch menu featuring eggs, stuffed French toast and baked frittatas. In the evening local meat and seafood sit alongside a variety of vegetarian dishes, all using elements of international fusion cuisine. Sachi Sushi has a casual atmosphere but dishes out plates of finely-crafted sushi, noodles and tempura, as well as steaming hot pots in a stylish venue with traditional Japanese artwork on the walls. There's also a wide range of cafés and restaurants within a short stroll of the resort.
