Once an 11th-century chateau belonging to William the Conqueror, who gifted it to his cook, and transformed in the 18th century into a much grander estate complete with manicured Renaissance-style gardens, Château d’Audrieu is steeped in history. It was commandeered by the Nazi SS as one of their headquarters during the Battle of Normandy. Medieval Bayeux is only a 20-minute drive away, and Omaha Beach approximately 30 minutes.
The spacious rooms at Château d’Audrieu exude classic elegance, many featuring vaulted ceilings, large windows, and original antique furniture. Decorated in rich earthy tones or calming hues of blue and gold, the rooms are a great spot to relax at the end of a busy day.
Serving fresh seasonal produce from the garden, the hotel's restaurant, Le Séran, has a wide-ranging menu offering everything from simple meals to gastronomic delights. You could enjoy a full meal in the restaurant, or perhaps peruse the extensive bar menu for a cocktail and some small bites.
Divided into four room categories, the rooms are decorated with a mixture of classic elegance, with antique furniture and vaulted ceilings, and a traditional Norman esthetic comprising of rich earthy tones and heavy fabric curtains.
All rooms have modern bathrooms, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi.
A short 20-minute drive from the hotel is the medieval city of Bayeux, where you can enjoy a visit to the city’s famous Tapestry Museum or wander in and out of local boulangeries and patisseries. The Normandy coastline is just a 30-minute drive away from Audrieu, making it quite simple to visit Omaha Beach and some of the other well-known World War II sites.

Facilities and Activities
The hotel has an outdoor heated swimming pool that's open from May to September. It also has a spa, Spa by Sothys, which offers massages and facials, and there's a fitness room.
A landmark historic hotel, Château d’Audrieu exudes elegance and calm. We love this property for its heritage but also for its extensive grounds and inviting salons, which are inviting places to enjoy an apéritif by the fireplace.
