The Grand Dragon Ladakh

Ladakh, India

Just ten minutes from Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, The Grand Dragon Ladakh is Leh’s first 5-star luxury hotel, built on a rich family legacy. In 1974, Mr. Din Mohammed established Hotel Dragon when Ladakh first opened to tourism. In 2007, his sons expanded his vision, creating The Grand Dragon Ladakh, now proudly managed by Danish Din, the third generation of the family.

The Grand Dragon Ladakh features 76 elegantly designed rooms and suites, adorned with Koshen motifs, Khabdan rugs, and Ladakhi artwork. Large windows offer stunning views, while heated teak floors and fresh air systems ensure high-altitude comfort. For well-being, oxygen cylinders and camphor sachets are provided. Sustainable amenities include 95 solar panels and an energy-efficient heat pump for hot water and underfloor heating.

Among the few hotels in Leh with diverse dining options, Zasgyath, the all-day diner, offers a lavish buffet spread and à la carte selections, blending local flavors with international favorites. Its patio overlooks the stunning Stok Kangri range, perfect for bonfire evenings. For a more relaxed indulgence, Solja, the cafe lounge, delights guests with sea buckthorn tarts, Himalayan apple desserts, and artisanal savouries.

With ample space, the property offers a range of experiences. Relax at the spa, gym, or yoga sessions, or explore Ladakhi culture through a Bhoti calligraphy workshop and insightful interactions with a monk. For a change of pace, the old bazaar is just a short walk away.

Blending modern luxury with Ladakhi tradition, it's a family-driven retreat, perfect for acclimatization and exploration.
