The Palace Bonvecchiati is a modern design hotel offering comfortable rooms in an excellent location for exploring Venice.

Entering the lobby, the chrome features of the bar area, red leather seats and contemporary art installations are particularly eye catching while the hotel itself has a more cosmopolitan feel. The spacious rooms are all furnished to a high standard and boast plenty of modern amenities.

OUR OPINION:

Located directly between St Mark’s Square and the Rialto, the position of the Palace Bonvecchiati makes it incredibly convenient, though the surrounding streets can be busier than elsewhere. The comfortable rooms are exceedingly spacious for Venice and the contemporary decor of the hotel makes it a great option within the heart of the city.

Rooms

All the rooms are furnished in a contemporary style with plenty of amenities including TVs, Wi-Fi and air-conditioning. The superior rooms are all of a good size but for those who want plenty of space, the Deluxe category rooms are an excellent option. There are a number of Junior suites available which have larger bathrooms with a separate bath and shower. Some rooms look over the small canal that runs along the side of the property or, from the higher floors, there are wonderful panoramas over the red rooftops of the city.

Location

Just behind St Mark’s Square and around a ten-minute walk to the Rialto area, Palace Bonvecchiati is ideally situated for exploring Venice’s key sites. There is a small water entrance but direct access by water taxi can be limited by the tide, so the schedule should be consulted in advance.

Food and drink

Breakfast can be enjoyed in the ground floor breakfast lounge, consisting of freshly baked pastries, fruit salad and a variety of cakes. At the front of the property you'll find restaurant La Terrazza with its large outdoor terrace area that fronts onto the street. Here they serve traditional Venetian dishes as gondolas pass by along the Orseolo canal.

Families

A selection of interconnecting rooms are available for families or groups traveling together.

Facilities and activities

On the top floor of the property there is a pleasant, modern fitness room which offers wonderful panoramic views of the Venice skyline. There is a small selection of fitness machines along with a large spa bath and steam room for guests to use during their stay.
