Mandarin Oriental

Kuala Lumpur's landmark hotel is situated in 50 acres of landscaped gardens. It is one of the most luxurious hotels in the city. There is a connecting walkway to the Suria KLCC shopping center and the 88-story Petronas Twin Towers are located directly opposite the hotel. What really sets the hotel apart is its commanding central location and the consistently superb service.

The hotel rooms vary depending on their view. The deluxe city view rooms look out onto the city; premium city view rooms have close up views of the Petronas Twin Towers; the deluxe park view rooms overlook the greenery of KLCC parklands. The premium city view rooms are worth the small upgrade to ensure you have an excellent view of the towers.

The Mandarin Oriental club rooms (24th floor and above) are very good value and include: Complimentary lunch at the club lounge (12.00-2.30pm weekdays only), afternoon tea (3.00-4.30pm daily) and evening cocktails/wine/beer/canapés (5.00-7.00pm daily), laundry, pressing and dry-cleaning of up to five garments per day, in-room internet access and Wi-Fi in the club lounge, and option to take breakfast in the club lounge (6.00-10.30am weekdays, 6.30-11.30am weekends/public holidays).

The hotel has seven excellent restaurants. Pacifica is a stylish seafood restaurant that offers some of Kuala Lumpur's most exclusive fine dining, serving fresh seafood. Lai Po Heen specializes in classic Cantonese cuisine with seafood and dim sum specialities. Wasabi Bistro serves traditional Japanese fare with a modern take. Lounge on the Park offers a tranquil lounge setting with live music and scenic views of the park, ideal for afternoon tea, light snacks and cocktails. Biba’s Café is a contemporary, all-day café, featuring a gourmet coffee bar and buffet counters that serve international favorites and local specialities. Cascade Restaurant and Bar Alfresco offer poolside dining, featuring a selection of light snacks and healthy juices. Sultan Lounge is a chic late night lounge featuring a vibrant mix of a well heeled local crowd and music from international DJs. All restaurants offer a children's menu.

The hotel's infinity pool is a lovely spot to enjoy some sun and take in the cityscape. There is also a shallow wading pool for children. There is a fantastic spa, and for the more active, tennis courts and a very good fitness center.
