Kuelap

Kuelap Excursion

Experts agree that the monumental aspects of Kuelap can only compare in size and grandeur to Machu Picchu. The construction is estimated to have taken over 200 years to complete and comprises millions of cubic feet of stone.

Situated 9,843 feet above sea level, three miles from Tingo and approximately one hour from Chachapoyas, Kuelap is made up of hundreds of round stone houses and was not discovered until 1843.
