Situated at the southern end of Cayuga Lake, the pretty town of Ithaca is perfectly located for exploring the breathtaking scenery of New York State's Finger Lakes region.

Vineyards abound here and the lovely drive along the shore of Lake Cayuga, known as the Cayuga Wine Trail, offers a collection of 27 wineries, which surround the sapphire waters. This is the very heart of New York wine country where the climate is perfect for growing hardy native grapes and hybrids and the more delicate varieties that produce excellent wines.

There are also some beautiful waterfalls in the vicinity: Taughannock Falls are higher than Niagara and also have a nearby swimming beach; Buttermilk Falls State Park is a lovely spot; whilst Lucifer falls in Robert H. Treman State Park should not be missed.

In addition, Cayuga Lake provides excellent boating and windsurfing opportunities and there are some excellent restaurants in the Commons area of downtown.
