Hotel Abrego has been built in a Spanish hacienda style, with adobe bricks and shingled roofs.
Located next to the lobby, the Abrego Lounge, with its open fireplace, offers a warm, informal setting for drinks and light snacks, with additional patio seating next to the outdoor swimming pool and hot tub should you wish to enjoy the fresh air. While the amazing seafood of the wharf is a short stroll from the hotel, there's an on site restaurant serving a delicious variety of food as well as local beer and wine.
OUR OPINION:
The Hotel Abrego is a great Monterey option for anyone wanting to avoid the touristy waterfront part of town. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the wharf and has a lovely pool area where guests can relax at the end of the day.

The Abrego features fresh and functional bedrooms spread across a number of buildings within the hotel complex. They span seven categories, from Standard rooms to Deluxe and Premier rooms, offering a range of king, queen or two queen options. Rooms are comfortable and feature all the necessary amenities, including minibars, TV’s, complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee makers, comfortable beds and even a fireplace in certain Premier and Deluxe rooms. A patio or balcony is also a feature of each room.

Located a five-minute walk from the waterfront and only two miles (3.2 kilometres) from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Hotel Abrego is located close to scenic Highway One in uptown Monterey, with the shops, restaurants and nightlife of downtown all within walking distance.
Food and drink
The on site restaurant serves a good variety of food to suit all appetites, along with a number of local beers and a great wine list featuring a selection of Californian wines. The Fisherman’s Wharf is within half a mile, where there are a good variety of seafood restaurants to choose from.
Facilities and activities
The hotel is superbly located for any wharf adventure, with the fantastic Chris’ Whale Watching excursions setting off just half a mile from the hotel. The Monterey highlights of Cannery Row, Monterey Bay Aquarium and surrounding beaches are just a short drive away.
