Arlington Inn, New England

Built in 1847 as the private home of railroad owner Martin Chester Deming, and today listed on the National Historic Register, the Arlington Inn is a stately yet intimate Greek Revival mansion set in four acres of perennial gardens in Vermont's former capital.

Situated in either the main inn, carriage house or old parsonage, the 16 guest rooms are unique in style and character and each named after a member of the family. Period décor and furnishings are complemented by modern amenities including Wi-Fi, TV and air-conditioning to create a comfortable yet subtly elegant base.

The hotel also features a homely  and inviting restaurant, the Deming tavern and porch, perfect for pre-dinner drinks, and a garden solarium where a full cooked to order breakfast is served each morning.
