Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights with British Airways in World Traveller Plus outbound to New York and in Club World, with a flatbed, return from Boston.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to New York. On arrival at the airport your driver will meet you and take you to your hotel, right in the heart of Manhattan.

  • You will have time for breakfast in your hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant before your guide arrives. He will be taking you on a tailored walking tour of Manhattan and is a real life New Yorker with a huge breadth of local knowledge. Your guide will return you to your hotel at the end of your tour and you will have just enough time to relax in comfort before your evening visit to the acclaimed Museum of Modern Art. Your private VIP tour begins when the museum closes to the public and you will be the museum's sole visitors on your curator led experience. You may wish to enjoy your evening meal at the museum's twice Michelin-starred restaurant, The Modern, this evening.

  • Visit some of the city's most famous neighbourhoods in style today, in the back of a classic convertible. Your driver, a New York local, will begin your tour by driving over the Brooklyn Bridge into Brooklyn, New York's hippest borough. Your tour will also visit Greenwich Village, SoHo, TriBeCa, Chinatown and Little Italy. This afternoon you can relax in the luxury of your hotel or explore any of the local attractions that are within walking distance.

  • This morning you will be dropped off by your hotel's driver at Penn Station, where you will board your train to Boston. Your business class seat will allow you to stretch out and take in the scenery as it goes by. Upon arrival in Boston your driver will pick you up at the station and take you to your waterfront hotel. This afternoon you can take advantage of this wonderful location, exploring the sights and sounds of picturesque Boston Harbor. This evening you can enjoy fresh seafood with a view over the water.

  • Wake up to the best view in the city, your room looks out over Boston Harbor and you will be able to see a myriad of ships scattered across the bay. You will want to have a light breakfast as your tour today will take you on a food odyssey, tasting classic New England fare such as clam chowder and lobster rolls. This evening you can walk down to the harbour to board the Schooner Adirondack III for a sunset cruise.

  • Travel to your nearest car hire depot, where your SUV will be ready to collect. All insurances, road maps and a sat nav are included in your hire agreement. Your first drive of the trip is a simple journey to the pretty coastal town of Kennebunkport, Maine. The remainder of the day you have free to explore at your own leisure.

  • Kennebunkport is a quintessential New England seaside town with plenty to keep you occupied. You can head out onto the water on a working lobster boat, stroll around the town or relax on the beach. Tonight you can try the catch of the day in one of the lovely restaurants overlooking the harbour.

  • Today you will leave Kennebunkport behind and head inland toward the towering White Mountains of New Hampshire.

  • You have a full day to explore the area around Jackson. The White Mountains offer many outdoor activities such as walking, cycling or white-water rafting. This afternoon you will take the Cog Railway to the top of Mount Washington — when the weather is fine, the views are brilliant and you can see all the way to Canada.

  • Your location at the foot of the White Mountain National Forest is perfect for venturing out into the natural scenery. The forest is home to an expansive array of hiking trails, suitable for all ages and abilities, and certain to keep you occupied for the day. You may be lucky enough to spot some local wildlife today, the forest is home to bald eagles, beavers, moose, coyotes and even black bears.

  • Leave the White Mountains behind and head east, across state lines, into Vermont. This is one of the more scenic drives of your trip, as you can incorporate the Kancamangus Highway into your journey, while stopping off at idyllic New England towns along the way to Woodstock.

  • You have a full day to take in the beautiful scenery surrounding Woodstock. Take a scenic drive down to the Green Mountains National Forest, visit some of the little towns dotted around Woodstock, or visit nearby Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park.

  • Continuing south today you will arrive in the wonderful colonial town of Newport.

  • Enjoy the beautiful coastal city of Newport, which has an interesting history and offers opulent mansions and interesting museums. This evening you will head out onto the water on an America's Cup 12 metre yacht, sailing past lighthouses, Fort Adams and more.

  • Departing Newport you will be leaving Rhode Island and crossing the border over into Massachusetts. From there you can take the scenic coastal road around the southern coast of Cape Cod to Chatham.

  • There is plenty to keep you occupied in Cape Cod and Chatham is the perfect location for exploring. You may wish to visit the Cape Cod National Seashore, with its dune filled beaches and plentiful walking trails, or relax and enjoy the seaside location of your hotel.

  • Another day to admire the local beaches, visit a nearby lighthouse or even head out onto the water for a wildlife cruise. This afternoon you will drive north to the tip of Cape Cod, visiting the vibrant town of Provincetown. Here you will meet your driver and venture out onto the nearby sand dunes, finishing in time to relax on the beach and take in the sunset. The tour concludes with a traditional New England clam bake right on the beach, with fresh lobster and clams.

  • Make your way to back to Boston today, taking the beautiful roads along the southern coast of Cape Cod.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
