On arrival into Maun you will be met by your light aircraft pilot who will fly you over the Delta into the heart of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve where you'll be staying at Camp Okuti in a two-bedroom family unit. This camp is well set up for children of all ages, complete with a swimming pool.
-
Morning and afternoon activities in this wildlife hot spot. You can enjoy morning or afternoon safari, boat cruises from Okuti and there is a very interesting heronry located close to the lodge. The guides are well-trained to engage children during their safari, and will provide a bag of inspiring goodies to keep their interest.
-
Today you'll take a light aircraft out of the National Park and into the Shinde Private Concession. Here you will be met by your guide and taken to Shinde Footsteps, where you will stay for the next three nights. This is a safari camp as it used to be — rustic — yet comfortable with no detail overlooked.
-
The Young Explorers program is great for families who are a little more adventurous and want to experience a bit more of the real side of camping in the bush. The camp is a little rustic but far from being basic. It really is an outstanding experience. The camp mainly concentrates on walking as the name suggests, but mokoro trips are also possible and game drives are available if you wish. This is a fantastic experience, and you will learn so much along the way from the expert guides.
-
A second full day at Footsteps. The guides are fabulous at engaging the whole family and teaching young safari goers how to track wildlife, recognize spoor, identify birds, whittle a spear and build small animal traps as the bushmen do.
-
Another light aircraft will take you out of the Delta and across to the dry desert of the Central Kalahari. Two nights here introduces you to the life of the San People and offers totally different scenery to where you've already been.
-
Activities from Dinaka focus on exploring the arid landscape in search of the rare brown hyena, Kalahari lion, oryx and bat-eared fox — all animals you don't find in the Okavango Delta. If you're feeling adventurous it is also possible to spend the night sleeping out on the pans under the stars
-
You can enjoy one final early morning activity before bidding farewell to your guides and flying back to Maun to connect with your onward travel arrangements.
