The Fort Resort
The Fort Resort has the best views of the Himalaya in Nagarkot. It is set on a ridge at 2,000 m at the far end of the town and it seems that there is nothing between you and the vast mountains as you eat or sip your tea on the terrace.
The main building is quite large but is built using traditional Nepali architecture. Newari style cottages dotted about the gardens have lovely beamed ceilings and wooden floors with huge windows to take in the views and small terraces outside.
Delicious local food is served in the restaurant or on the main terrace.

Where possible, we like to offer a range of accommodation for each stop of your trip, chosen by our specialists as some of their favorite places to stay. To help you make the right choice, we give each property a rating based on its facilities and service, but we also look for hotels with distinct character or a location that can’t be bettered.
Mystic Mountain is nestled in the hillsides around Nagarkot village and is in a prime location for enjoying sweeping Himalaya vistas, especially at sunrise and sunset.
Experiences while staying here
The following activities are designed to give you the most authentic experiences of the area where you’re staying. We work with local guides, who use their knowledge and often a resident’s eye to show you the main sights and more out-of-the-way attractions. Our specialists can also suggest outdoor pursuits and activities, such as cooking classes, that will introduce you to the traditions of the area’s inhabitants.
The highlight of this experience is when the sun has just risen and the tops of the mountains look as if they are bathed in fire.View details
