If you are lucky enough to encounter them, you will spend a really enjoyable hour watching them leap from branches, build nests from leaves in the treetops, and play and groom each other.
Gisakura Guesthouse, Nyungwe Forest, Rwanda
Gisakura Guest House likes two kilometers outside the forest close to the Gisakura Tea Estate. The accommodation is extremely basic, but clean and comfortable.
Rooms are sparsely furnished and showers and toilets are communal - but all is spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly and welcoming and huge meals can be prepared with a couple of hours notice. Whilst basic, the resthouse offers good access to the Waterfall Trail and the colobus troop living on the Gisakura Tea Estate. Vervet monkeys occasionally pass through the grounds, a fair variety of birds are present in the small patch of forest in front of the resthouse.
Finally, a number of nearby relic forest patches offer nice small rambles, good birding and the chance to encounter forest monkeys. All in all its very simple, but pleasant and the only accommodation in the area anyway!
