Responsible Choice

We've hand-selected a range of tours and stays across the world that go above and beyond to be a force for good by supporting local businesses, educating staff, challenging local norms, or promoting conservation and biodiversity efforts. Your Responsible Choice helps increase the positive impact of your trip.

Set in a tranquil location overlooking the Siem Reap River, Jaya House River Park sits just outside the bustling streets of the city. The stylish boutique hotel is surrounded by mature trees and has a tropical hanging garden with swinging daybeds for afternoon relaxation.

Inside, the sleek, contemporary style in a monochromatic palette oozes understated elegance. Artworks by students at the local Small Art School, one of a number of local charities supported by the hotel, hang on the walls, fresh flowers add a splash of vibrancy, and the attentive and discreet staff make guests feel right at home.

The 36 spacious rooms are decked out with dark woods, bright white walls and linens, large portraits, and cool grey fabrics with black and white touches. Two swimming pools and a spa provide ample space for relaxation, and a terrace bar overlooking the gardens provides good views as you unwind with a drink after a day exploring the nearby temples. The all-day-dining restaurant serves both Western and Khmer cuisine. With a core focus on food equality and sustainability, it offers extensive plant-based options using organic and locally sourced ingredients. Sustainable practices go far beyond the menu, as this locally owned hotel has been single-use plastic free since its opening and has planted over 2,000 trees in public spaces around Siem Reap since 2016. Jaya House also donates money from every room sold toward three local NGO’s — Green Gecko Center for Street Children; The Cambodian landmine Relief Fund; and The Small Art school Siem Reap.

The hotel is a five minute drive from central Siem Reap or the Angkor temples with a complimentary tuk-tuk provided for guests.

OUR OPINION:
