Hotel Orly

Santiago, Chile

The Orly is one of the most intimate and cosy hotels in Santiago; its homely atmosphere and small size contrasting with its location in the heart of Providencia, which gives it easy and immediate access to all the amenities, cafes and restaurants that the area has to offer. The hotel's building showcases French-style architecture, and inside there are plenty of inviting spaces in which guests can relax, such as the comfortable lounge, internal courtyard garden and pavement bar (closed on Sundays). Rooms have a simple decor but are comfortable, while half a block from the hotel there are a number of self-contained apartments of varying sizes for those looking for more flexibility and independence during their stay in Chile's vibrant capital.

Rooms

Rooms are on the small side, but are clean and bright with en suite bathrooms, cable TVs, air conditioning and heating, free Wi-Fi, telephones, hairdryers and safes. Categories include Single, Twin, Queen and King rooms as well as a Junior Suite that can accommodate up to four people.

The Orly also offers a number of apartments for either two, three, four or five people, which are located half a block from the main hotel. Check-in is at the main hotel reception and guests will then be taken to their apartment. Breakfast is still included, but guests will need to return to the Hotel Orly for this. These apartments have small kitchenettes for self-catering, along with a dining/living room, bedroom(s) and bathroom(s). They are also serviced daily and have air conditioning, cable TV and internet access.

Location

Providencia is the business heart of Santiago, but is also filled with numerous cafes and restaurants, giving it a bustling, modern and cosmopolitan feel that makes it a great example of Santiago today. Many of the city's main sites are within easy walking distance of the hotel, and the good metro connections make venturing further afield easy.

Food and Drink

The hotel does have its own restaurant for breakfast and other meals during the day and evening. Food is simple but tasty, and there are also plenty of other restaurants and cafes in Providencia right on the doorstep should you wish to try somewhere new. We get good feedback about La Biferia, just a few doors down from the Orly (around 100 metres to the right of the hotel as you come out) as a good spot for steaks; or next door, the sister restaurant serves a variety of fish dishes.

Facilities and Activities

The hotel offers a laundry service for an additional charge, has free parking and can transport you to and from the airport. There's also a craft shop on site, and the property grows its own medicinal herbs that can be enjoyed as a tea infusion.

Our opinion

A long term Audley favourite, the Orly is a delightful option with plenty of character and charm. Its location in the centre of Santiago's commercial district makes travelling around on the metro and by foot extremely easy. The staff are very friendly and the hotel has a real home-from-home feel.
