This great-value resort, set on the island of Moorea, is well located if you're looking to explore the island and experience a little local life.
Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa
Located on the north side of the island of Moorea, Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa is conveniently close to Tahiti via plane or the ever-popular 30-minute ferry. Nestled on a beautiful lagoon overlooking the mountains, the hotel offers garden bungalows, beach bungalows and the overwater bungalows that French Polynesia is known for, all combining contemporary design and traditional decor.
You can dine at the two restaurants, which overlook the beach, or at the two bars, which provide multiple food options to enjoy throughout the day. Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s tennis courts, spa, complimentary water sports and bicycle rental. The resort is also family friendly, offering babysitting service for the kids.

The garden, beach, or overwater bungalows are all spacious, light and contemporary in design with traditional Polynesian decor. Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, mini bars, free-standing baths and separate showers, safes, tea and coffee facilities and flat-screen TVs. Each garden villa has its own private swimming pool while the overwater rooms offer direct lagoon access.
Set between the two bays of the island (Opunohu and Cooks), the property’s secluded location on the north coast of Moorea is convenient for exploring both land and sea while also offering the chance to unwind in privacy.
Food and drink
Arii Vahine Restaurant serves an island-style buffet breakfast overlooking the ocean in the morning, and at night, it offers a fine-dining dinner menu. Cocktails and tapas are served in Eimeo Bar, which also boasts views of the lagoon. All-day dining is served in Rotui Grill and Bar, which offers local and international cuisine. For a special French treat, Toatea Creperie and Bar serves French crêpes. Guests can also book a special romantic experience on the beach facing the lagoon.
FamiliesAlthough this is predominantly a couples' resort, families are welcome. Babysitting can be arranged for a charge.
Facilities and activities
There is a large swimming pool at the hotel along with two small, white-sand beaches that overlook the lagoon. The resort offers free use of kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and snorkels. The snorkeling from the resort is excellent due to the implanted coral garden — the viewing is generally better in the mornings. On land, you’ll find tennis courts and a fitness room as well as daily cultural activities and demonstrations arranged by the hotel.
We think this mid-sized resort never feels too big or crowded and instead offers a chance to relax in a tranquil setting. We like the mix of contemporary and Polynesia decor, which combines an island feel with all the comforts of home.

We work with local guides, who use their knowledge and often a resident’s eye to show you the main sights and more out-of-the-way attractions. Our specialists can also suggest outdoor pursuits and activities, such as cooking classes, that will introduce you to the traditions of the area’s inhabitants.
Take an exciting four wheel drive tour of Moorea's lush, mountainous interior. The tracks and paths which wind their way up the peaks can only be traversed in appropriate vehicles with experienced drivers, as they are amazingly steep and very narrow.
