Bright and modern, the self-contained units all have fully equipped kitchens, individually-controlled air conditioning and Sky TV, as well as DVD players. Guests can choose from king sized, queen sized or twin beds, and each unit has French doors leading out to a small outdoor seating area. The accommodation spans several categories, including Standard, Luxury and Executive Studios, with the latter two options offering views of the ocean and mountains. There are also more spacious one and two bedroom Family Apartments for up to four or five guests.
The Anchor Inn has a great location on the waterfront, offering stunning ocean and mountain views. It's about a 25 minute walk from the 'whaleway' station and the shops and restaurants of Kaikoura town.
Food and drink
Whilst there isn't an on site restaurant, the Anchor Inn Motel is close to a good selection of restaurants in Kaikoura, and your accommodation comes complete with a well-equipped kitchen should you prefer to self-cater.
Just opposite the Anchor Inn is a children’s playground and a public swimming pool. The one and two bedroom Family Apartments provide ample space for families of four or five, and the option to self-cater works well for families with young children.
