The Ramada by Wyndham is the only hotel that can boast it's within walking distance of the Golden Temple. Service is welcoming and friendly and it’s got all the amenities you’d need for a comfortable stay.
Décor is traditional, with patterned rugs, carpets and textiles adorning the rooms and public spaces. The central atrium is impressive with its chandeliers among palm trees. Although without a view, there is a rooftop swimming pool, ideal for cooling off after a day exploring the city.
OUR OPINION:
A comfortable, good value hotel which boasts an excellent location within the heart of the old city, a short walk from the Golden Temple.

Rooms
The 144 guest rooms are comfortable, cosy and clean, with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities. Traditional artwork and lavish Indian cushions and textiles add charm. The decorative carpets and bold curtains may not be to everyone’s taste but what the rooms lack in modern finesse, the hotel makes up for in location and excellent value.
Location
Undeniably one of the best locations for exploring the city, The Ramada sits within Amritsar’s walled city. As well as the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh gardens, Shree Durgiana Tirath Temple, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum, Sikh Gobind Singh Fort, and the rose garden in Sakatri Bagh are all nearby. Markets, shops and restaurants are also in abundance. The railway station is 1.5 km (1 mile) away and Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport is 12 km (7.5 miles) from the hotel.
Food and drink
Al Fresco is the hotel's multi-cuisine restaurant which offers a varied buffet and has a live kitchen. Try Amritsari dishes, something Oriental or European. Kaffee Avanti is the casual coffee shop, which offers a variety of teas, coffees, smoothies, shakes, cakes, pastries and Indian street food as well as local snacks. There are mocktail menus available; the hotel does not serve alcohol.
