Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Windhoek.

  • After arriving in Windhoek, you’ll be met by our representative and welcomed to Namibia. Shortly afterwards, our representative will escort you to your light aircraft flight to Sossusvlei. Taking around an hour, you’ll fly over the rugged landscape before reaching the airstrip in the middle of the desert. A representative from the lodge will meet you and take you on a scenic drive to Namib Outpost, where you’ll spend the next two nights. You may even see Namibia’s national animal, the oryx, along the way.

  • This morning, you’ll have an early breakfast and head out in a 4x4 vehicle to Sossusvlei, accompanied by a guide. Arriving at sunrise before the main crowds, you’ll visit the towering dunes in one of the oldest deserts in the world. You’ll also see the salt pan of Dead Vlei, a renowned Namibia site filled with petrified trees. Returning to the lodge in the early afternoon, you’ll have the rest of the day to relax after your early start.

  • Today you’ll return to the airstrip and fly to Southern Damaraland by light aircraft. The area is renowned for its magnificent desert scenery, fascinating geological formations, archaeological sites, and a diverse array of desert fauna and flora. After approximately 90 minutes, you’ll arrive in Twyfelfontein where you’ll be met and driven to your camp. Hidden away on a granite kopje, with far-reaching views of the surrounding wilderness, your camp is an ideal base for exploring everything that Damaraland has to offer.

  • During your stay in Damaraland, we’d recommend joining a safari drive with an experienced guide. After breakfast, you’ll begin the search for desert-adapted wildlife, particularly the elephants that inhabit this area. This afternoon, you may like to visit Twyfelfontein, a historical site featuring ancient engravings created between 2000 and 6000 years ago. Returning to your camp, as the sun goes down, head to the sunset bar to enjoy the beautiful views.

  • Today you’ll leave Damaraland behind and fly by light aircraft to the exclusive Ongava Reserve close to Etosha National Park. After around 90 minutes, you’ll arrive at the private airstrip and be driven to the lodge. Your driver will point out any wildlife that you see along the way. Lions, elephants, leopards, white and black rhinos all call this area home, so there are plenty of opportunities for wildlife viewing. This afternoon, you may like to go out on a safari drive into the reserve or into Etosha National Park itself.

  • Another day of wildlife viewing in the Ongava Reserve or in Etosha today, both of which offer very different wildlife experiences. As Ongava is a private reserve, your guide will have the advantage of being able to drive off-road, allowing for up-close wildlife experiences. Etosha National Park, on the other hand, boasts a diverse array of species, which can often be observed together at the waterholes.

  • Today is your final full day on safari, and you’ll have the choice again of visiting the national park or staying within the reserve. We’d also recommend spending time in the hide at Anderssons as you’ll have the chance to see any of the visiting animals up close for some incredible photo opportunities.

  • Today you’ll fly from the Ongava Reserve back to Windhoek Airport to meet your onward international flight.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
