Situated on a large vineyard in the Gibbston Valley, Kinross Cottages offer a taste of rural living in a scenic and tranquil location.
There are only 14 Studio Cottage rooms here, all offering views of the surrounding vines and mountains. The cottages are spacious, with high ceilings, large beds and full kitchen facilities so you can cook for yourself if you wish. You’ll also get a generous veranda for admiring the views.
Wine is a key element of a visit and the property acts as cellar door for Coal Pit, Domaine Thomson, Hawkshead, Valli and Wild Irishman wines, as well as their own labels, offering tastings and advice to guests and visitors for the premier wines of the region.
There is a bistro on site, serving local, seasonal foods, and a hot tub, petanque courts, and yoga, Pliates or yin yoga sessions every day.
Sleek, modern and stylish, the spacious Studio Cottages at Kinross are contemporary in design with crisp white walls and linen, warm woods and mountain and vineyard views. The sleek, neutral palette is complemented by wicker and leather chairs, and each room has its own kitchenette with a microwave and an oven. There’s a private veranda outside as well as complimentary Wi-Fi, large TVs and air conditioning, while the bright bathrooms have a bath or shower.
Kinross Cottages are set on a working vineyard, 25 minutes’ drive from Queenstown and 15 minutes’ drive from Arrowtown. Surrounded by views of the mountains and vineyard, it’s a tranquil place to stay, with plenty of opportunity to explore the vineyard, hike, cycle or simply relax.
Food and Drink
Breakfast is served in the warm, timber-lined dining room and includes a good selection of breads, pastries and cereals, homemade jams, fresh fruit and juice, and eggs cooked to order. For lunch and dinner, the bistro serves a menu of local, seasonal dishes with many of the ingredients coming from the property’s herb and vegetables gardens and heritage orchard.
Facilities and Activities
Along with mountain views, the property has a hot tub, petanque court, and daily yoga and Pilates sessions. There’s also a children’s playground on site.
A unique place to stay in the Gibbston valley, the wines here are superb and we highly recommend a tasting while you are here.
