Rooms
The 38 suites all feature a private plunge pool and overlook the pitons, the Caribbean Sea and the Soufrière valley. The suites run along the edge of the ridge and are laid out so that they can be built without the fourth wall and yet remain completely private. This completely open fourth wall means guests can enjoy cool sea breezes, spectacular views and unobstructed stargazing at night.
Each suite is built with Caribbean wood timber and ecolodge architecture in mind — this really is tree-house living at its finest. The traditional, rustic, Caribbean style furniture is hand made by their own team of craftsmen. You won't find a TV in your suite, but there is complimentary Wi-Fi as well as a mini-bar and tea and coffee facilities.
Location
Ladera’s enviable location is one of its key attractions. Perched on a ridge in the midst of the UNESCO World Heritage Site it offers stunning views out over the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea. A secluded and peaceful setting among nature, the resort is almost hidden among the thick jungle.
Please note the hillside setting and number of steps around the resort makes it unsuitable for less mobile guests.
Food and drink
The well-known Dasheene restaurant attracts both guests and visitors who want to enjoy the spectacular views and award-winning cuisine. Focusing on sustainable cooking sourced from locally harvested ingredients, it serves fresh, tasty food with a Saint Lucian twist.
The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and if you are staying over a weekend, they also offer a fabulous Sunday brunch. Please note, gentlemen are requested to wear long trousers and collared shirts or polo shirts at dinner.
The Bar at Dasheene is open from 9am each day. It’s a perfect setting for a pre-dinner cocktail or to enjoy the live music which plays some nights until 9pm.
Families
All guests must be 18 years or older.
Facilities and activities
Most guests spend their time relaxing among the natural beauty and tranquillity of the resort or making the most of the great location to explore the many attractions of the south-west of the island.
Due to the size of the resort, the facilities are more limited in comparison to some of the larger ones, but you’ll still find a small pool area and fitness room. The resort also offers a complimentary shuttle to Sugar Beach where you can experience some excellent snorkelling.
For those who want to explore Ladera’s botanical gardens, their gardener Ray will happily show you the local tropical plants and flowers on a one hour garden tours.
Excursions around the island can be booked through the resort or arranged via our local ground agent. These include rainforest walks with local guides, bird watching, horse-riding and day trips to the city of Castries.
