Pousada Maria Bonita offers 11 comfortable suites set around a grassy pool area. There are three different categories that increase in size, but all feature the same amenities. Each room is uniquely furnished in modern rustic decor and comes equipped with king beds, flat-screen TV, private balcony and air conditioning. You’ll find yourself feeling at home in any of the suites but we recommend requesting a room on the second floor to take in the island views.

Location

The pousada is tucked away in a quiet residential area on the island close to the town center of Vila dos Remedios. Just about anything you need will be found with a 10-minute walk from the pousada given the island’s small size. While some beaches are within reasonable walking distance most will require arranging a taxi or renting a buggy to visit, both options can be arranged at the front desk. The airport is just a five-minute drive away.

Food and drink

Breakfast is included in your stay and will feature the traditional Brazilian staples of fresh fruit, bread, cold cuts and cheese, coffee, and natural fruit juice. There is a small dining room but it’s best to take your breakfast on the outdoor patio.

Afternoon tea is also available but the pousada does not serve lunch or dinner.

Facilities and activities

A lovely shaded pool is available to all guests. While there is no shortage of beaches to visit on the island, the pool does offer nice respite from the sun which is often out in full force, and many beaches do not provide much in the way of shade.
